The Analog Neurofrequency Communication Reciever (ANCoR) - an audio divination role playing game. (Modular Synthesis + Zine, 2024)

The main idea behind the project was to explore what potential could be found in using modular synth technology as a central mechanic for a role playing game. The game itself used 2 theremin antennas to sift through and process a collection of audio in order to find communications that are fictionalized within the world presented to the player through a zine that mimics an old technical handbook. Within the fiction of the game, the player is deciphering a message sent by unknown beings that describes a future event. Once the audio clips are collected, the zine guides the player through using a series of symbols to order and tag the words with their thematic meanings.
